Devious Journal Entry

Tue Oct 6, 2009, 5:10 PM
Before you read anything else and may get bored :

I HAVE ONE IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR YOU WATCHERS !!!!! PLEASE TAKE TIME TO ANSWER !!!!

How would you describe my style ? (in art) You know, sometimes it's easy to recognize a drawing was made by a particular artist. Well, I wish to know, so far, what do you think my style is ? And, what does my work mostly inspire you ? (as a feeling, an idea, etc.) Answer even if someone else has already written something similar to what you think, please. Thank you!

Long time no news, I know.

About my recent activity :

Finished Call the Ships To Port, done with the medieval inspired artwork (that was a little gift for Chessy, an illuminated manuscript representing a phoenix and a white wolf), and currently working on my part of an art trade with *DarkTwilightWolf.

Idealy after, I should also finish painting my school bag and two other artworks, but first comes the drawing ~Sugar-High-Lover asked for. And I might change the rest of my planning in order to continue a bit the comic Baronness' Shadow. I wish to get somewhere with this.

Also, two weeks ago I started another table-roleplaying game in the same universe ( Changeling : The Dreaming ) but the story happens around 1200 a.d. in France, during Crusades and Inquisition. GREAT great GREAT scenario ahead ! I combined my old story of "Chaos Daughters" (on which I have tried in my young years to write a novel) to a completely new story, and hope the whole will be interesting, thrilling, magical, and good fantasy. (not too cliché )

AND, a very interesting proposition was made to me by ~Chester-le-lunatique. He asked for my permission to write the whole story of one or the two roleplaying game(s) ! I shall inform you of his progress and when he posts something. It's a very big project, and I wish him to fulfil it with success. :D Good luck ! (not that I'm doubting on your capacities)

And about college... Well, it's less boring than high school was. It's not really painful to go to classes. Yet, we haven't done any very interesting compositions, but in two weeks we should start real job. Big time. So far it's been more technical and theorical.

There are lots of talented people in my program, or so I find. It's kind of strange because my teachers don't seem to think so. And what truly scares me is that one of them (scary woman, she stresses me whenever she comes near me) thinks my artworks in class are wonderful, that I'm in advance compared to other students at their first session. (first "half-year". A normal "college" diploma is given after you've completed all your classes distributed on 4 "half-years" (two years) (that is, if you don't fail too many classes, then it might take more time))

I don't get it. I mean, she explained why (giving my drawings as examples for rest of the class) but... It's not THAT much better. Anyway...
Other teachers mostly act as if I didn't exist. They don't criticize me much, give me some encouraging words, and that's it. I'm not sure if they do it because my work is "mostly irreprochable" (according to the objective of the project) or because, well, they don't see much interest in helping me improve, like if they don't think I have what it takes.

Found many inspiring bands ! And got new cd from Sonata Arctica : Last Days of Grays ! But I'm kind of deceived by the songs on it... there are only 2-3 of them that I really love. Made an artwork on one of them : Freedom. It's in my gallery.

I'm mostly happy recently. :)

Gone for the weekend, see you soon, update soon !

Have a nice day/week/month until next time !

Some of you know I'm taking singing classes (since a few months, that is) and I've decided to put my recordings on this account : [link]
Of course, it's amateur, but if you're curious you can take a listen. Thank you!

~Good luck!
